Video of Rays-Red Sox-Game 7 of the ALCS

On Sunday night, the Tampa Bay Rays made history. They made it to the World Series for the first time in their franchise history. They are no longer A.L. East doormats, instead they are American League Champs.

Matt Garza, a former Twins, shut down the Red Sox, only allowing a home run to Dustin Pedroia. He also struck out nine batters, and was named the ALCS  MVP. Garza won two games in the series versus the Red Sox. The Rays got a home run from Willy Aybar, and run-scoring hits from Rocco Baldelli, and Evan Longoria. Longoria and Aybar each had a double in the game. Tampa Bay had six hits to Boston’s three. Jon Lester pitched for the Red Sox, allowing all three runs to the Rays. David Price got Jed Lowrie to ground out to Iwamura for the final out. After that the Rays went crazy.

As thrilling as this series was, I hope the Rays-Phillies are even more exciting. Tune in to Game 1 on Wednesday in Tampa Bay for the start of the World Series.
