The Denver Broncos are fading, and now it’s time to see what Tim Tebow can do in the NFL. After all, he was a first round draft pick, and was one of the best college quarterbacks of all time. Here are three reasons why it should be Tebow time for the Broncos:
1. They’re out of the playoff race, and Kyle Orton has been playing poorly as of late.
The Broncos don’t have a shot at the playoffs anymore. Their recent skid has the Broncos looking toward the offseason, the draft, and the search for a new head coach.
Plus, Kyle Orton has been playing poorly as of late. In his last two games, he has had a combined 283 yards, thrown no touchdowns, three interceptions, and has lost two fumbles. The game before that vs. St. Louis, he had 347 yards for three touchdowns, no interceptions, and no fumbles. Orton has had a terrific year, but the team is sliding and is 3-10 and Orton has had a bad few weeks.
2. If they start Tebow now, it would provide a glimpse of what the future holds for the Broncos.
Believe it or not, Tim Tebow is probably the future, unless they draft another quarterback or Kyle Orton remains the starter.
The Broncos did use a first round draft pick on Tebow. Granted, Josh McDaniels brought him in and now McDaniels is gone. But Tebow does have potential, and has played well when he has been given chances this season. He has three rushing touchdowns and one passing touchdown on the season. Tebow has showed he has good mobility, and can get the ball into the endzone.
Should the Broncos start Tim Tebow?
Maybe when John Elway comes to work as an consultant at the end of the year, he could train Tebow, and guide him as an NFL quarterback. After all, Elway was a pretty good quarterback.
If Tebow doesn’t pan out, then they can look to keep Orton and develop Tebow some more, and maybe draft another quarterback.
3. Tebow puts fans in the crowd, and brings excitement to the team.
Lastly, the Broncos have been losing, and that brings disappointment and anger to many fans. However, Tim Tebow brings the opposite. He is a great role model, and many look up to him, and want him to succeed at the NFL level. If the Broncos want to keep filling seats, they should start Tebow; he could increase team revenue as he will bring in fans.
He could be a stud or dud. The only way to tell is to play him. I say play him; the Broncos have nothing to lose. What do you think?
