Tonight was not a good night for Duke and their fans. They fell to Florida State for their first loss of the season, 66-61. A perfect season was ruined for the Blue Devils. It was Duke’s first loss since March 3, 2009 against Maryland. The Blue Devils had a 25 game winning streak. Kyle Singler led the Blue Devils with 20 points, and Nolan Smith had 19 points. Duke shot 31% for the game. They also trailed at halftime for the first time all year. Duke game into this game averaged 88 points per game, and they managed to score just 61 against Florida State. Duke also went 11 for 35 from the three point line.
It was a disappointing night. Let’s just hope they finish out the season on a high note and use this as motivation to win another national title.
