Bloggings of the Day

I know, I haven’t blogged in awhile, and that’s why today will be longer than normal. So here we go.

Let’s first celebrate Jessica Biel’s 29th birthday. She’s a great actress and very good looking. I’d say she is best known for her role in 7th Heaven on ABC Family. That was a good show. Here is a clip from the show:

Second, the Heat lost to the Bulls yesterday, and the Bulls swept the season series. The Heat cried after the game. I don’t think there’s crying in basketball. Grow up Miami Heat and start living up to your expectations.

Are the Chicago Bulls legitamate championship contenders? I think so. Here’s why: The Bulls are currently 43-18 and in first place in the Central Division. If the playoffs were to start now, they’d be the two seed, and very dangerous. They have a serious candidate for MVP in Derrick Rose, who is averaging 24.6 ppg, 8.1 apg, 4.3 rpg, and only 3.6 turnovers per game. He is the leader of the Bulls and is showing it. Not to mention, they have a great big man down in post in Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah. Boozer averages 18.4 ppg, and 9.7 rpg, almost a double-double. Noah averages 13.0 ppg, and 11.6 rpg. Also, Kyle Korver has been a great addition to the wing for the Bulls. He averages 8.2 ppg, but shoots 43% from beyond the three point line.

The thing I most like about the Bulls, is they play defense. New head coach Tom Thibedeou has this team reeling. They beaten Orlando every time except once, and swept the big three in Miami.

I’d say be on the watch for the Bulls in the playoffs, because they could be dangerous.

Third, the NFL’s future got brighter last week as the league extended the deadline to come up with a deal on the collective bargaining agreement. I say thank goodness! Last week, I thought the chances of a lockout were very likely, and now I think it will get done because the player want to play, and they know the fans will be depressed if a NFL season doesn’t happen next year.

Fourth, my Blue Devils faltered on Saturday, lost the ACC Regular Season title, but believe me, I think there is still hope. Trust me, it’s better to lose now. The ACC Tournament is this weekend, and the Blue Devils need to well to gain momentum going into the NCAA tournament.  Right now, I believe Duke wouldn’t be a number one seed in the tournament, but if they do well in ACC Tournament, like win it, it is possible.

My current number one seeds are: Pittsburgh, Kansas, Ohio State and Notre Dame.

Here is my outlook on Duke if they want to make a tournament run:

Duke just needs the Plumlees’ to step up and have the effect that Brian Zoubek and Lance Thomas had on the team last year. They need to come up with huge rebounds, and contribute scoring on a consistent basis, (Mason Plumlee didn’t score at all vs. UNC).  Also, Kyle Singler needs to get out of scoring slump. He is key and for Duke to make a serious late run, they need him to play like did last year.

Nolan Smith needs to keep racking up points and leading this team, but he can’t do it alone. Everyone else needs to come together and play hard on offense and defense every game.

Also, the Blue Devils need a miracle. They need Kyrie Irving back. Irving is practicing again, and if he feels like he can play, Coach K should let him play because with Irving, the Blue Devils can be very dangerous.

Finally, Seth Curry, Andre Dawkins, and Ryan Kelly all need to keep being reliabe scorers and play hard, tough defense. Right now, I believe defense is key for Duke to make a serious run come the NCAA tournament next week.

That’s it for today, come back tomorrow for more! See yah!
