Bloggings of Day

Were back! I just want to thank you for reading my blog! Keep coming back!

First,  March Madness begins on Sunday with Selection Sunday taking place. Right now, conference tournaments are taking place with the Big East and Big 12 playing as we speak. Last night, Butler punched its ticket to the Big Dance with a win over Milwaukee. Oakland won the Summit League, and they could be a tough out for whoever gets to play them in the first round.

My one seeds now are : Ohio state, Kansas, Notre Dame, Pitt.

Second,  Ohio state head football coach Jim Tressel was suspended for the first 2 games and fined 250, 000 for knowing that his players sold team gear last season. That’s no big deal, they don’t play a major team until Week 3 against Miami (FL).

Third, the NFL was in talks again today about the collective bargaining  agreement. Today, NFLPA rejected the  NFL’s offer to turn over profitability data.

The NFL’s lead labor negotiator told the league that they offered to give the players’ union financial information that the league doesn’t even give its 32 clubs.

ESPN reported that according to aperson who spoke to the AP, the NFL’s proposal to the union included:

 -audited league-wide profitability data with dollar figures from 2005-09, based on individual club statements;

-the number of teams that have seen a shift in profitability in that span;

 -an independent auditor to examine the data.

Also, the NFL owners still want an extra 1 billion for stadium construction and improvement.

 The two sides are making progress, but still are stuck on two things that the NFLPA has not agreed to any major economic concessions and the NFL has not agreed to completely open its books.

Also, the players and owners have agreed on a rookie wage scale pay limit.

 Fourth,  the Miami heat have lost 5 straight games now, after losing to Portland last night. What’s wrong with the Heat?

I say team chemistry is a big deal, as the big three are not cooperating.  Chris Bosh isn’t playing well, Lebron should stop taking game winning shots, and Dwayne Wade should. Plus, they need their other players to step up as well, and remember that it takes a team effort to win championships.

 Also Kobe Bryant passed Moses Malone on scoring list, and the Lakers finally starting to play to potential

Fifth,  Cam Newton had his pro day yesterday. Newton had a better day than he did at the Combine. Blaine Gabbert has his March 17.

I think it comes down to these two on draft day for the Carolina Panthers to decide who to draft.

Other NFL news, Tiki Barber wants to play next year as he signed his unretirement papers.

 Sixth, Zack Greinke of the Milwaukee Brewers will start season on the disabled list after breaking a rib playing basketball.

Seventh, here are some great college basketball buzzer beaters to get you pumped up for March Madness!

That is it for today. Come back tomorrow for more great information and keep reading!
